Mr. A. Durward Jardine, of Blackville, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the age of 76.
Durward was the son of the late Ephrian and Carrie (Amos) Jardine and worked as a heavy equipment operator as well as a small engine repairman. He attended St Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville.
He is survived by his 11 children Darlene (George) MacDonald of Stoney Creek, Wanda Jardine of Blackville, Timmy (Maria) Jardine of Blackville, Dale (Amy) Jardine of Barnaby, Peter Jardine of Blackville, Perry (Joanne) Jardine of Warwick Rd,Todd (Carmel) Jardine of Upper Blackville, Dana Jardine of Jacksonville, Alan (Stacy) Jardine of Barnettville, Trent Jardine of London, England, and Gail (Tim) Gillespie of Miramichi; eight sisters Isabella Hetherington, Delphine (Sterling) Langan, Linda(Don) Finlay, Elva (Ed) Young, Barbara Jardine, Faye (Robert) Pleadwell, Marjorie (Gordon) Steeves, and Phyllis Fong; three brothers Amos (Helen) Jardine, Nelson (Joyce) Jardine, and Richard (Daphne) Jardine; one brother-in-law Al Kehoe; 19 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Philomena (MacDonald), one sister Bernice Kehoe; and two brother-in-laws Thurman Hetherington and Charles Fong.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Father AA McKinnon Memorial room, in Blackville, on Friday, August 21, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St Raphael’s R.C. Church, in Blackville, on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 11 am, with Father Bonaventure officiating.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the IWK, Arthritis Society, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
