McCARTHY, Brian Andrew - 60, Lower Sackville, passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 13, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Nelson Miramichi, N.B., he is survived by his wife, Isobel (MacAllister); daughter, Megan, Halifax; sons, Neal (Jenny), Dartmouth, and Evan (Kelly), Enfield; grandchildren, Owen and Brooke; brothers, Rev. Douglas S.J., Guelph, Ont.; Colin (Jayne), Lethbridge, Alta.; Timothy (Michaeleen) and Richard, Nelson. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Anna (English). Brian retired as an RCMP sergeant. He had been stationed in Ottawa, Antigonish, Truro, Inverness, Amherst and Halifax. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and had an interest in classic cars. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, November 15, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, and on Friday, November 16, from 7-9 p.m. at Northumberland Funeral Home, Newcastle, Miramichi, N.B. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi on Saturday, November 17, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
