Mr. John Edward "Eddy" Simonson, of Eel Ground, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 74.

He was the son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Simonson, and worked as a steel worker before his retirement.

Eddy is survived by his son Frank (Catherine) of Michigan, USA; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother Joseph.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, October 30, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 11 am, from St Joachim's R.C. Church, in Eel Ground, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Miramichi SPCA, or to a memorial of one's choice.
