Mr. Roland Underhill, of Gray Rapids, husband of Hazel Underhill, passed away at the Miramichi Senior’s Citizen Home, on Thursday November 20, 2008, at the age of 89.

Born in Barnetteville, he was the son of the late Frank and Myrtle (Warren) Underhill. Roland worked as a woods-scalar and became a fishing guide after retirement. He attended St Agnes Anglican Church in Gray Rapids and was a Sunday school superintendent as well as the Church warden. He was also a member of the Liberal Association.

Besides his wife Hazel, Roland is survived by two daughters Wanetta (Malcolm) Walls of Bathurst, and Shirley (Thomas) McCabe of Renous; one son Ellery (Peggy) of Gray Rapids; one sister Marie Mountain of Miramichi; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by four brothers Merlin, Ellery, Reid and Eugene; and one grandson Ellery Franklin.
