Mr. Weaver John Hennessy, of Howard Rd., passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 88.
Weaver was the son of the late George and Nora (Weaver) Hennessy and worked as a barber before his retirement. He was World War II Veteran, a member of the Canadian Legion, The Knights of Columbus and the Oromocto Chamber of Commerce. He was also involved with the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, as well as the Canadian Cancer Society.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jeannine (Leger) of Howard Rd.; son David (Jo-Anne) of Blackville; daughter Jo-Anna of Blackville; three sisters Evelyn of Blackville, Noreen of Blackville, and Margaret of Montreal; two brothers George (Freda) and Lawrence (Helen) both of Moncton; one sister-in-law Theresa Hennessy of Blackville; three grandchildren Christopher, Kelly, and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews.
In Weaver's memory, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 11 am, from St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville, with Father Vincent Donovan officiating.
As expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, or to a memorial of one's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
