Mrs. Vella Trapani, of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday April 20, 2008 at the age of 96.

Born in Newcastle she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Grace (Coughlan) Harris. She was a nurse and worked in New York U. S. A. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Miramichi, a member of their choir, a member of St. Andrew’s Chapter of the Eastern Star and Anglican Women’s Guild.

Vella is survived by two sisters Lornetta Ullock of Miramichi and Edith Tomlinson of Perth Andover; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband George she was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy; two brother’s Warren and Stickney.

A memorial service will be held on Monday April 28, 2008 at 2pm from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Miramichi with Rev. Richard Steeves officiating. Burial will be in Long Island National Cemetery in New York U. S. A. The funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St. telephone 622-7741.
