Murray James Perley Carter passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Kelly's Special Care Home, in Quarryville, at the age of 82.
Born in Bryenton, he was the son of the late Allan and Wilhemina (Bryenton) Carter. Murray, with his wife Theresa (Carew) Carter, owned Miramichi Travel Agency. Murray was also a computer programmer and developed customized programs for local businesses, companies, and other organizations.
He is survived by three daughters Elizabeth (Jim Hennessy) of Calgary, AB, Margaret of Moncton, NB and Barbara (George Porter) of Fredericton, NB; one son Allan of Millerton; nine grandchildren Amanda, Jennifer, Maura, Carter, Carl, Rebecca, Mark, Seth, and Isaac; and three great grandchildren Scarlet, Gabby, and Blakely.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Theresa.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 24, 2016, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no funeral service. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Good Counsel at a later date.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CNIB, or to a memorial of one's choice.
