Myrna Joyce (Stewart) McMahon, of Douglasfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 73.
Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of Mae (Connell) and the late Merrill Stewart. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Myrna was very involved with the church and was also a member of the C.W.L., Parish Council, Head of the Liturgy Committee, and a Eucharistic Minister.
She will be sadly missed by her husband David McMahon; three daughters Joyce (Gerard McDonnell), Sandra (Donald O'Hearn), and Paula (Joe Donovan) all of Miramichi; one son Robbie (Colleen) of Fredericton; four sisters Joan (Winston Trevors) of Douglasfield, Donna (Kerin Doyle) of Craigville, Patsy (Mattie McFarlane) of Douglasfield, and Sharon (Robert McEachreon) of Douglasfield; two brothers Lloyd Stewart (Helen) of Nelson, and Bruce Stewart (Shirley) of Douglasfield; seven grandchildren Angela, Jennifer, Jeremy, Kelsey, Breanna, Kaylee, and Emily; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother Wayne Stewart.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 7 to 9 pm, and Friday, August 8, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 11 am, from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, with father Jim McQuade officiating.
As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St Patrick's Memorial Fund, or to a memorial of one's choice.
Please note: Members of the C.W.L. are asked to meet at the church, on Saturday, at 10:30 am, to form a Guard of Honor.
