  • Mrs. Patricia Johnston, of Miramichi, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 70.

    Patsy was the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Donovan) Walsh.She was a school teacher for 37 years and taught at both Gretna Green and Millerton. She was also a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and was very involved with the Epiphany Prayer Group, Marguerite Bourgeoy's Associates of Congregation de Notre Dame, Catholic Women's League, R.C.I.A, and MARTA.

    She will be sadly missed by her husband Delbert Johnston; two daughters Shannon Johnston of Oromocto, NB and Patricia Lago (Ivano) of Guelph,ON; two sons Tony and Samuel (Sharon) both of Miramichi; one sister Anne St John (Paul) of Ottawa, ON; one brother Charles Walsh (Pat) of Miramichi; four grandchildren Amanda Lago, Sophia Lago, Shane Johnston, and Hannah Johnston; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son John.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Sunday, February 26, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday, February 27, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 2 pm, from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a memorial of one's choice.
