Perley Samuel MacDonald, of New Jersey, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 88.
He was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Loggie) MacDonald. He worked for North Shore Construction for 28 years, and after retirement he kept active and could always be found on the farm. He was a member and past board member of Zion Presbyterian Church, Burnt Church.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Marie (Murray) MacDonald; his son Stanley MacDonald of New Jersey; one sister Joyce McKnight (Joey) of Miramichi; one brother Frank MacDonald of Burnt Church; his close cousin John (Jack) MacDonald of Burnt Church; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son Jason Samuel; three brothers Gerald, Norman, and Roy; and his infant sister Helen.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Perley's home (20 Mill Rd. New Jersey, NB) on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, anytime after 7 pm, and on Thursday, January 16, 2020 all day and evening. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020, at 2 pm, from Zion Presbyterian Church, with Rev. A.D. Sutherland and Rev. Darel Tozer officiating. Interment will take place in Burnt Church Union Cemetery later in the spring.
