Richard Hilton Allison, of Miramichi, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 66.

Born in Sillikers, he was the son of the late Gordon and Vivian (Silliker) Allison. He worked as a labourer before his retirement, and was a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Ricky loved nature, was an avid fisherman, loved being at the camp and enjoyed the simple things in life. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, and he was so proud of them.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Sylvia (Aube) Allison; two daughters Lisa Watters (Jim) and Lana Good (Josh) both of Miramichi; one son, Kyle Allison (Teena) of Miramichi; three sisters Elsie Enright (Kelly) of Miramichi, Brenda Bourque (Charles) of Fredericton, and Sheree Allison of Miramichi; brother Brent Allison (Marilyn) of Fall River, NS; six grandchildren Ian, Shane, and Kaya Watters, Avery and Ryan Allison, and Kye Good; as well as several brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation as Ricky was blessed and was so thankful to have had the chance to spend time with his family and friends at the recent benefit held in his honour.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 21st at 12:00, from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In Ricky’s memory, the family asks that you teach a child to fish, enjoy the outdoors, and hug your loved ones. With the generosity shown to Ricky and Sylvia, the family will be making a donation to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Oncology clinic to help other families travelling for Cancer treatment.
