Rita Coreen (Coughlan) MacDonald, wife of the late Elmer MacDonald of Blackville, passed peacefully away at Percy's Place in the early morning hours of June 27th 2024 after bravely fighting cancer.
Born in Gray Rapids on February 15th 1940, Rita was the daughter of the late Loman and Grace (Kennedy) Coughlan.
Mummy was a gentle soul who gave the best hugs and loved her family & friends with all her heart.
Rita is mourned by her 5 children – Larry (Aline), Carolyn (Colie), Allan (Helen), Lyona (Randy) & Gladys (Alden). 9 Grandchildren – Roxanne, Robbie (Karen), Sandi (Malcolm), Colton (Kiersten), Ashley (Brittany), Kaylon, Shelby, Haylee & Tj (Mackenzie) 23 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She also is survived by her adored sisters Lyona (Late Gerald) and June (Cameron) and 7 brothers – LeRoy (Doris), Robert (Late Linda), Johnny (Treva), Ronnie (Late Kathy), David (Mary), Hal (Wendy) and Boyd (Barb). Beloved sisters in law Doreen (Gerald) & Ruth (Hughie).
Besides her husband and parents, she is predeceased by infant brother James, brother Donald and his wife Rhonda, her sister-in-law Althea and sister & brother-in-law Patty & Garnet.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Blackville NB on Sunday, June 30th from 3 pm to 8 pm. The funeral will take place at Holy Trinity on Monday, July 1st at 10 AM followed by the interment at St Agnes Anglican Church in Gray Rapids.
The family would like to express extreme gratitude to Dr Losier and the wonderful nursing professionals at Percy's Place – we cannot thank you enough for your care of mum and us. Also, thanks to Dr Nina Zigante and Holly Sturgeon of Extra Mural who provided so much care and advice during mum's illness.
As expressions of sympathy – donations to the St Agnes Building fund or Percy's Place would be appreciated by the Family.
