Mrs. Rita Marie (Perry) Astle, of Miramichi, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 86.

Rita was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marceline (Leblanc) Perry. She was a homemaker and a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her three daughters Isabel Losier (Claude) of Kitimat, BC, Elizabeth Davis (Robert) of Millerton, NB, and Marie Khalil (Atef) of Ottawa, Ont.; five sons J. Albert (Margaret) of Comox, BC, John (Carla) of Marathon, Ont., James (Jim) (Susan), Bruce (Betty), and Pat (Sharon) all of Kitimat, BC; one sister Elva Rouselle of Miramichi; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Harrison Astle; two sons Charlie, and baby Harrison; two brothers Everett and Francis; and one sister Catherine (Kate).

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 18, 2010, at 12:30 pm, from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Tom Fowler officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations to a memorial of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
