It is with heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the passing of Robert (Bobby) Ronald Gray, which occurred at the Miramichi Region Hospital, on January 6th 2025, at the age of 71.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Alexander "Luckie" and Inez (Jarvis) Gray. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a long haul truck driver for Northumberland Cooperative.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Caron (Richards) Gray of South Esk; his children Brian Gray of Moncton and Barbara Harris (Mark) of South Esk; two sisters Joan Hannah (Mike) and Gail Glover (Late Eric) both of Miramichi; brother John Gray (Joyce) of Millerton; two grandchildren Brytan and Hyland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Sobey.
Passionate of all things hockey, hunting, fishing and trucking, Bobby's favorite times were of sharing his knowledge and reminiscing about his life's experiences. Whether it was his younger days up in the woods near the Palisades, the time he was scouted for the Montréal Canadians (true story), or the millions of miles he put in behind the wheel of his transports, Bobby lived a full life, abound with stories to keep you entertained for hours.
As his health began to decline, Bobby found peace and comfort in spending as much time as possible with his loving family, especially with his most valued treasures, his grandsons, Hyland and Brytan. They were the light of his life and he is already so greatly missed.
The family's love and appreciation also goes to the Extra Mural Nurses, who have taken care of and advocated for Bobby's health these past few years. We are forever grateful.
In keeping with Bobby's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home & Crematorium, 102 Pleasant St., telephone (506) 622-7741. Where your loved one never leaves our care.
