Robert Rodolphe René Ricard, of Miramichi, passed away at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the age of 78.

Born in Montreal North, Quebec, he was the son of the late Rodolphe and Aurea (Therrien) Ricard. He worked in the mines and was a member of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Anne-Marie (O'Toole) Ricard, of Miramichi; his daughter Chantal Ricard-Martinez (Patricio Martinez) of Miramichi; three sons Derek Blackmore (Maureen), Darrell Blackmore (Lisa) both of Miramichi, and Pierre Ricard of Montreal, QB; two brothers Gilles and Guy both of Montreal, QB; four grandchildren Drew, Brooke, Kyle, and Sean; and several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at 11 am, from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Jim McQuade officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Miramichi Red Cross, or to Miramichi Dialysis Clinic.
