Ruth Annie Flett, of Quarryville, daughter of Harvey Leslie and Mabel Ann (McEachern) Flett, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at the Double "H" Special Care Home, at the age of 82.
Born in Miramichi, she was a bookkeeper by trade. Ruth was also a Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Member and Vestry of St Peter's Anglican Church, a volunteer with Canadian Red Cross, President of the Derby Senior Citizens Club, and honorary member of the Progressive Conservative Association for South West Miramichi.
Ruth loved people, especially little children, and enjoyed being with family and friends.
She is survived by her two sisters Eleanor Hoglund of Kingston,ON, and Edna Manderville of Miramichi; her brother John Flett (Noreen) of Quarryville; sister-in-law Eva Flett of Millerton; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Harold Flett, and two brothers-in-law Wendell Hoglund and Sterling Manderville.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 12 pm, from St Peter's Anglican Church, Millerton, with Father Gerry Laskey officiating.
