Ruth Russell, of Miramichi, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 82.

Born in Bartibogue Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Morrison and Vera (Johnston) McMackin. Ruth worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement and was a member of St James & St John United Church. Ruth was also a member of the Retired Nurses.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Krista (Rene Page) of Miramichi; three grandchildren Michael, Seth and Brian; two nieces Sally and Susan McMackin; three sisters-in-law Patsy Russell of Miramichi, Sister Anne Russell of Kingston, ON, and Bettyanne McMackin of Fredericton.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Jack Russell, and her brother John McMackin.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 am, with Rev. Wendell Gregan officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St James and St John United Church, or to a memorial of one's choice.
