Ruth (Coughlan) Vickers, of Gray Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 88.
Born in Coughlans, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Sullivan) Coughlan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, New Life United Pentecostal Church group, as well as a Sunday School Teacher.
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Corinne (Rev. John Nickerson) of Saint George, and Sonya (Normand Jardine) of Gray Rapids; her son Norman Jr. (Evelyn) of Gray Rapids; three sisters Melva (Sterling Hambrook) of Renous, Hulda (Merton Astle) of Gray Rapids, and Joan of Moncton; two brothers Beaton (Linda) of Renous, and Winston (Kathleen) of Miramichi; sister-in-law Mona Coughlan of Gray Rapids; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Norman Vickers, son Millard Vickers, grandson Steven Vickers, and two brothers Murray Coughlan and Albert Coughlan.
The family will receive relatives and friends from New Life United Pentecostal Church, Blackville, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 2 pm, from New Life United Pentecostal Church, Blackville, with Rev. Graham Russell and Rev. John Beach officiating.
