Scott McKay, of Miramichi, passed away on Wednesday, December 20th, at the age of 48.
Born in Miramichi, he was the son of Sheila (McLenaghan) McKay and the late John Burton McKay. He worked as Director of Operations at Netco Electrical Contracting and was a member of the New Brunswick Hockey Officials Association, and a coach with Miramichi Minor Baseball and Miramichi Minor Hockey.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Cheryl (Keoughan) McKay; three sons Tyler (Allison) of Fort McMurray, Tyson (Amanda) of Charlottetown, and Colton of Miramichi; his sister Ann (Troy) of Miramichi; two brothers John (Joanne) and Larry (Kellie) both of Bay du Vin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother Jamie.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, December 22, 2017, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 11 am, from St Michael's Basilica, with Father Keoughan officiating and assisted by Rev. Robert Barry.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Miramichi SPCA, or to a memorial of one's choice.
