Sharon Marie (Murphy) Hackett, of Barnaby, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the age of 70.
Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late John and Celine (Doyle) Murphy and worked as an Insurance Agent and Adjustor for the Cooperators until her retirement. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby, and spent much of her time volunteering for the church. She was also a member of the Barnaby Homecoming Committee and a Trustee on the School Board. Sharon frequently attended her grandchildren's many sporting events to cheer them on and socialize.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Robert Hackett of Barnaby; daughters Shelley Casey of Barnaby and Jill Hackett (Schyler Travis) of Chatham Head; son John Hackett (Andrea) of Barnaby; five sisters Joanne Alward of Barnaby, Doreen Ahern (Brian) of Nowlanville, Heather Jardine (Terry) of Blackville, Mary Douglas (Scott) of Mississauga, ON and Jacqueline Murphy of Barnaby; four brothers Paul Murphy (Sharron Mangos) of Barnaby, Edward Murphy of Semiwagen Ridge, Billy Murphy of Nelson, and Todd Murphy (Carolyn) of Edson, AB; 10 grandchildren Justin, Ryan, and Alyson Hackett, Emma, Connor, and Tori Casey, Noah and Brielle Savoie, and Jesse and Liam Travis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Terry Murphy.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, at 11 am, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.
