Shirley Joseph Hogan, of Upper Derby, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 77.
Born in Upper Derby, he was the son of the late Bartholomew and Mary Grace (Underhill) Hogan. He was a member of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Father Barry Council # 7481. He was also a member of the millwrights local #2262 and worked in construction until his retirement. He had a passion for antique cars, motorcycles, and travelling for pleasure.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Irene; two daughters Jennifer Walls (Billy) of Blackville and Sandra Urquhart (Jamie) of Barnettville; two sons Jason (Frieda) of South Esk and Darren (Tina) of Oxford, Michigan; four sisters Sylvia (John) of Miramichi, Evelyn Froats (late Dale) of Cornwall, ON, Margie McIntyre (late Herbie) of London, ON, and Maureen Copeskey (Bob) of Nashville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers Wilson, John, and George.
The family will receive relatives and friends from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Renous, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Please note; facial coverings are mandatory and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021, from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Dan Bastarache officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
