Stanley Russell Jardine, of Maple Glen, passed away peacefully at Percy's Place, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 92.
He was the son of the late James Edward and Doris (Courtney) Jardine. Stanley began working in Toronto at the age of 17 and remained there for a total of 5 years working as a truck driver for a furniture company. He also worked for various periods of time for other employees in the Miramichi area and most notably became employed through Health Steel Mines between 1964-1974. Prior to retirement, he worked in the Lumber business after purchasing a skidder, at which time he contracted his services out to Burchill and Anderson's Lumber Mills.
He enjoyed camping, campfires, and sawing up the firewood until he was 90 years of age. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and most of all his cat Smokey.
He will be greatly missed by his children Brenda Mutch (Hayward) of Halcomb, Darrell Jardine (Sharon) of Maple Glen, Lorraine Young (Terry) of Halcomb, Kim Jardine of Fredericton, and Lesa Kingston (B.J.) of Maple Glen; daughter-in-law Sandra Jardine of Maple Glen; sister Marion McMaster of Rothsay; many grandchildren, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Merlin Jardine; sisters Edna Davies, and Joyce Mullin; and brothers Norman Jardine, Arthur Jardine, Danny Jardine, Lesley Jardine, and Clayton Jardine.
The family would like to thank the staff of 4 West, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, as well as Dr. Sean Losier, for their excellent care. A special thank you to Percy's Place and Dr. Gerard Losier for their compassionate care and support.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A private celebration will be held at a later date with interment taking place in Maple Glen Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy's Place, or to Maple Glen Cemetery Fund.
