Steven Donovan, of Renous, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Dr Georges L. Dumont Hospital, at the age of 67.
Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Fred and Viola (Gillespie) Donovan. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church. He was an avid woodworker and loved spending time in the garage working on projects. One of his favourite places to be was up at the camp sitting on the deck with mom watching the river. He was never happier than when the entire family could gather together.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Peggy (Singleton) Donovan of Renous; two daughters Cheryl (Wallace Hallihan) of Renous and Angela (Jody Hood) of Fredericton; his son Leigh (Rachelle Cormier) of Quispamsis; two sisters Jeanette (Richard Carroll) of Gander, Nfld, and Judy (Cecil Bell) of Renous; one brother Willis (Laura) of Renous; six grandchildren Noah, Nicholas, Isabella, Mary, Adrianna, and Ellie; his special furry companion Nessie; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law Frances Donovan and his nephew Neil Donovan.
The family will receive relatives and friends from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 11 am, from St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church with Father Bastarache officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Extra Mural Program would be appreciated by the family.
