Valeri "Lili" Martin, of Baie-Sainte-Anne, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at Percy's Place, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Edouard and Imelda Martin. He worked as a barber, prior to his retirement, and was a member of Ste Anne's Roman Catholic Church, in Baie-Sainte-Anne.
Lili enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt. He also had a passion for baseball and could be found dancing at any event. He cherished his time spent with family, and adored his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Boneita Martin of Baie-Sainte-Anne; daughters Suzanne Martin (Brent) of Miramichi and Julie O'Neill (Rory) of Bay du Vin; four sisters Martina (Ernie) of Baie-SAinte-Anne, Francine of Baie-Sainte-Anne, Ledwina (Jules) of Moncton, and Réjeanne (Zoel) of Baie-Sainte-Anne; brother Edouard (Charline) of Baie-Sainte-Anne; four grandchildren Dustin (Melanie), Jonathon, Jaxon, and Haylee; two great grandchildren Waylon and Sadie; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Adonis, Jean-Paul, Zoel, and Rudolph; and his sisters Odette and Élénore.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11 am, from Église Sainte-Anne Roman Catholic Church.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Percy's Place.
