  • Wallace Furlong, of Howard Rd, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the age of 65.

    Born in Howard, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ruby (Brophy) Furlong. He worked as a woodsmen and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, in Howard.

    He will be sadly missed by his wife June (Sturgeon); two daughters Stacey (Wayne LeBlanc) of Gray Rapids and Kelly (Greg Amos) of Doaktown; wonderful loving grandfather to his three grandsons, Kyle LeBlanc, Lucas and Liam Amos; two sisters Noreen (David Lobban) of Miramichi and Ann (Euclide Doucette) of Howard; seven brothers Steven (Mariette) of Cassilis, Richard (Lorenda), Louis (Joy) of Doaktown, Johnny (Florine), Billy (Theresa), Jimmy all of Howard and Clyde of Miramichi.

    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Wayne Furlong.

    The family will receive relatives and friends from Father AA McKinnon Memorial Room in Blackville, on Friday, February 21, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 11 am, from St Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville, with Father Joe Okoko officiating.

    As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Miramichi Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, or to a memorial of one's choice.
