Walter Bryan McLean of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, formerly of the Chaplin Island Road, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Born in Strathadam on August 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Jared and Clara (McKay) McLean.
Walter served n the R.C.A.F. from 1943 to 1956, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He then worked for many years in various parts of N.B. as a millright and in high steel. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 10, Newcastle. He enjoyed reading, watching Blue Jays baseball games, and talking about politics of the day.
He is survived by his eight children Brian (Linda) of Harper Road; Joanne (Pete) of Chilliwack, BC; Glen (Emily) and Paula (Dale) of Ottawa, ON; Keith (Heather), Torry, Carla (Steve) of Abbotsford, B|C, and Garth of Vancouver, BC. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother Art of La Verne, California and Doris Bear of Seattle, Washington; sister Gladys McLean of Tabusintac; sister-in-law Yvonne Lynch and brother-in-law Bliss Hachey of Miramichi.
Besides his parents , he was also predeceased by his wife Louise in 2004, his brothers Lyall, Cameron (Bud) and Stanley; his sisters Florence and Francis.
At Walter's request, there will be no visitation. Interment will take place in Whitneyville United Church Cemetery at a later date.
