  • Warren John Chester passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital in his wife's loving arms and under the watchful eye of his mother on May 8th, 2022 at the age of 50 years, after a short battle with a very aggressive cancer.

Warren loved life! He loved an evening with friends and family, especially one spent sitting around a roaring bonfire, with a libation in hand, and a guitar at the ready. Warren had an uncanny ability to find happiness in his daily activities; a big deal could be made over the Oscars on TV or just a regular season game of his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs (Jerseys and hats required). A chore such as cleaning his ‘party barn’ could result in a spontaneous dance party. Warren loved watching nature and the seasons unfold on his cherished property on the banks of the Miramichi river.

Warren’s personality was contagious to everyone he met. To know Warren is to love Warren. He was steadfast in his loyalty to his family and friends. They will continue to honour his life by finding joy in every moment, turning the volume up on the stereo, and living their lives to the fullest. Through this, Warren can live on.

Warren is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Dr. Angela Barry; his other best girl, his mother, Sandra Payne Chester; his in-laws, Ron Barry and Paula Griffin Barry; his sister, Natalie Chester; brother-in-laws, Charles (Vicki) and Aidan Barry; his treasured nephew and niece, Riley and Hilary Barry; his aunts, uncles and cousins; and dear friends who became family- Wes, Wendy, Katie and Jacob Ashby; Sandy Coleman, Dr. Marilyn Loh, and Jocelyn Coleman; Jason, Kirsten, Avery, and Emma Collins; Rob Leclerc, his girlfriend Angela Siracusa, and his daughters, Ailah and Aynsley. An official uncle to only two, he was the favourite uncle to many.

Warren is predeceased by his father, John William Chester, his paternal grandparents, John Alfred Chester and Margaret McMillan Chester; his maternal grandparents, Ernest Payne and Angelina Bowyer Payne.

A private party will take place in Miramichi on May 21st at Warren’s home.

Angela, Sandra, and Natalie invite you to share your Warren memories and Warrenisms on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, at the Royal Naval Veterans Club, 2444 Industrial Drive, Burlington, Ontario. Bring an instrument to celebrate, if you wish.

To honour Warren’s love of animals, please donate to the Miramichi SPCA. They have had a particularly difficult time over recent years. To honour his love of music, consider paying for a child’s music lessons or donate to MusiCounts or Musicbox Children’s Charity. Or, to honour his love of nature, plant a tree and then hug it on every sunny day. Warren loved a tree hugging day!

If love could have saved him, he’d have lived forever.
