Wendy Dealy, loving partner of Robert (Bob) Matchett of Derby Junction, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the age of 60.
Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Reginald (Dode) Dealy and the late Ruth (Flieger) Dealy.

Wendy had a sparkling personality, a wonderful sense of humour and a sharp mind. She was upbeat, genuine and always smiling. She was a generous, kind and compassionate woman who would make herself available at a moment’s notice to help anyone with anything. Children and animals were drawn to her. She loved music; going to concerts and shows; camping and the beach; reading her newspapers to keep abreast of politics and current events; spending time with family and enjoying a good meal.
Wendy was an accomplished athlete. Over the span of her 19-year softball career, she was a member of the Loggieville Gems, Miramichi Fireballs and Moncton Rebels. She represented New Brunswick in 14 Canadian championships and was inducted into the Softball NB Inc. Hall of Fame (1994); the NB Sports Hall of Fame (2001); the Miramichi Wall of Fame (2007); the Softball Canada Hall of Fame (2008) and the Moncton Sports Wall of Fame (Moncton Rebels, 2012). She was a former member of the Chatham Curling Club, the Miramichi Golf Club and the Douglastown and Nelson Ski Clubs.
Wendy will be deeply missed by her sisters, Deborah Matheson (late Drew) and Joan Russell; her nieces, Carrie Doyle (Martin), Lindsay Russell, Leanne Butler (John) and nephew, Graeme Russell (Lindsay); and Bob’s children, Nancy Mullin-Ward (John), Cathy Ward (Robbie), John Matchett (Marilyn) and Paul Matchett (Una).
