William (Billy) Marlan Matchett, of Miramichi, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 74.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late Frank and Greta (Silliker) Matchett and worked as a self-employed entrepreneur.

Billy is survived by his wife Dorothy (Lutz) Matchett of Miramichi; two daughters Vicky Matchett and Wanda Matchett (Kevin Black) both of Miramichi; one son Todd Matchett of Surrey, BC; one stepdaughter Kim Mack of Washington, DC; one stepson Keith Tenass of Red Bank; one sister Wanda Tozer (Cyril) of Whitney; 11 grandchildren; and two nephews Frank and Ronnie Tozer.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Monday, May 20, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at 11 am, with Rev. Willard Watling officiating.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, or to a memorial of one's choice.
