William "Billy" Murphy

William (Billy) Joseph Murphy, of Miramichi, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of 59.

Born in Miramichi, he was the son of the late John and Celine (Doyle) Murphy. He was a red seal plumber and pipefitter, and a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Denise; mother-in-law Ida Amyotte; five sons Joey (Holly) of Miramichi, B.J. (Justin) of Miramichi, Matthew (Jessica) of Fredericton, Gregory (Natasha) of Miramichi, and Sean (Taylor) of Miramichi; sisters Joanne Murphy, Doreen Ahern (Brian), Heather Jardine (Terry), Mary Douglas (Scott), and Jacqueline Murphy; brothers Paul Murphy (Sharon), Edward Murphy, and Todd Murphy (Carolyn); grandchildren Skylar, Bryce, Gavin, Zoey, Lincoln, Kaden, Elijah, Benjamin, Thomas, Isabella, Jude, and Seth; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Sharon Hackett; brother Terry Murphy; and father-in-law Paul Amyotte.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 11 am, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) or to a memorial of one's choice.
