William “Willie” Harold Bjurstrom, of Miramichi, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, at the age of 85.

Born in Nordin, he was the son of the late Elof and Louise (McMahon) Bjurstrom. He was a woods worker and a member of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Catherine (Cathy) (Tony Duguay) of South Nelson; son John Bjurstrom of Beaverbrook; his girlfriend of 31 years Evelyn Bjurstrom of Miramichi and family; three sisters Josephine (Sally) Henderson, Rita Creamer, and Anna Mullin all of Miramichi; Harvey Sherrard of Warwick Road; granddaughter Alicia Daley; two great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his late wife Dorothy Mary (Howe) Bjurstrom; baby Harold Bjurstrom; son William Harold Bjurstrom Jr.; sister Patsy Milner; and brothers Winston Bjurstrom, Thomas Roberts, and Bud Bjurstrom.

The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2 pm, from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Godwin officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cardiac Unit at Saint John Regional Hospital.
