Wilson Alexander Hogan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, at the age of 90.
Born in Barnettville, he was the son of the late Bartholomew and Mary Grace (Underhill) Hogan.
He worked as a millwright at the pulp mill for 34 years before his retirement.
Wilson volunteered much of his time to Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, in Renous, and was a member of the Parish Council and Church Choir.
He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus No.7481 Father Barry Council and served as Grand Knight for two terms.
He was also a member of the Right to Life, Union 689, Sutton Brook Singers, the school board, and he delivered meals on wheels.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter Eleanor Peterson of Blackville; his sons Wilson Jr. (Gloria) of Quarryville, Sheldon (Janice) of Quarryville, Donald (Trudy) of Warwick, Patrick (Lisa) of Cassilis, and Rodney at home; four sisters Maureen (Robert Copeskey) of Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret (Herbie McIntyre) of London, ON, Sylvia (John Murphy) of Miramichi, Evelyn Froats of Cornwall, ON; brother Shirley (Irene) of Upper Derby; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Muriel June (Donovan) Hogan; his brothers George (Betty) and John (Rita); brothers-in-law Michael and Dale; and daughter-in-law Nadine.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, in Renous, on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 7 to 9 pm, and on Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 11 am, from Saint Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, in Renous, with Father Vincent Donovan officiating.
