Winnifred (Winnie) Arlene Stewart, of Miramichi, passed away suddenly due to a brief illness, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 61.

Born in Miramichi, she was the daughter of the late Winnifred Stewart. She worked for Horizon Health Authority for 35 years, most recently as a certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician in Outpatient Clinic (OPC). She had an amazing work ethic and was loved dearly by her co-workers. Winnie loved her children and was very proud of them. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters Jennifer MacLeod of Prince Edward Island and Allyson Fitzpatrick of Alberta; her son Elie Fitzpatrick (Valene Lyons) of New Bandon; two sisters Claudia Stewart and Nancy Stewart (Wayne) both of Miramichi; three brothers Myles Stewart (Kathy) of Cassilis, Reggie Stewart (Susan) of Maple Glen and Laurie Stewart (Linda) of Chelmsford); granddaughter Hannah MacLeod and several nieces and nephews.

Winnie was an amazing mother, sister and friend. She lived her life fully and we are left with many fond memories of her. Many would call her the life of the party, but lets be honest, she was the party. Her hugs and kisses, lipstick included, will be missed by everyone. Her new found role as a dog mom to Timbit, was a surprise to everyone, but a role that Winnie truly embraced.

In memory of Winnie, a ‘Celebration of Life’ will take place on Saturday, September 11th, 2021 at 11am, at Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Carr officiating. Interment will take place on Miramichi Cemetery.
